National Police agents have dismantled four marijuana greenhouses in the Barranco de la Asomada (Tías), seized 750 kilos of the drug and arrested five people as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health. According to the Police, "the facilities had all the necessary elements to favor the cultivation and processing of the drug."
The investigations began after the agents became aware of the existence of a marijuana plantation in the municipality of Tías, in the area known as Barranco de la Asomada, on a remote farm, difficult to access and that went completely unnoticed.
Once this information was known, the Police began the steps to determine its veracity, with several agents moving to the area indicated by an anonymous complainant. After carrying out several checks, the police officers observed that there were two buildings and three artisanal greenhouses on the farm, as well as the existence of numerous marijuana plants both inside and outside them. Likewise, it was verified that a British citizen was in charge of the plantation.

Given this evidence, the entry and search of the farm was carried out, locating five people inside, who were arrested as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health. In the facilities, the agents found hundreds of plants, in different stages of growth, which had a total weight of 750 kilograms.
In addition to the drug, lighting panels, electrical material, air extractors, fans, high-power halogen bulbs, containers for growing marijuana, fertilizers, fertilizer and two defoliating machines -valued at 12,000 euros- were seized.
