The National Police, through the Technological Crimes Unit of the Local Police Station of Telde, has concluded an investigation that has allowed them to clarify a serious case of continued cyberstalking (stalking), threats, and coercion suffered by a 17-year-old minor from the municipality.
The events began in April of this year, when several people shared the young woman's private phone number on social media, accompanied by false accusations intended to incite third parties to contact her
From that moment on, the victim began to receive anonymous calls, messages, and voice notes with death threats, insults, and expressions of hate, a situation that continued for several months.
During the investigation, agents identified the alleged perpetrators of the messages and posts, who were operating from social media profiles and associated phone lines.
Dissemination of the minor's number
The National Police indicate that those investigated disseminated the minor's private number (doxing), sent repeated messages of a violent nature, made calls from hidden numbers, attempted to find out her address, and even expressions of hatred directed at people close to the complainant
The agents determined that these behaviors constituted the crimes of threats and coercion as defined in the Penal Code, as well as cyberbullying or stalking, given the persistence and reiteration of the harassment, which severely affected the victim's peace of mind and security.
As a result of police investigations, one of the investigated individuals was arrested, while two other implicated individuals were reported to the competent authorities as they were **outside the police jurisdiction**
The National Police reminds citizens of the importance of not disseminating third-party personal data, reporting any form of digital harassment, and promoting responsible use of online platforms, especially among adolescents. These behaviors can lead to serious criminal consequences.
