This Friday, January 9, emergency services attended to a hiker who fell in the Montaña Roja area, in Playa Blanca, Yaiza municipality. According to the Security and Emergency Consortium, the incident occurred at 3:49 PM, when the Emergency Coordination Center (Cecoes) was alerted about the accident.
The incident occurred about 500 meters from the mountain access point, which hindered the immediate access of rescue teams. Once on site, the personnel entered the area on foot, where they located the injured woman along with medical staff. The woman, who showed symptoms of a possible fracture in her left ankle, was immobilized and transported on a Kong stretcher to the ambulance for subsequent evacuation.
In addition to the emergency services, Local Police officers and the Emergency Services participated in the operation, collaborating in the evacuation of the hiker
