A new fire recorded this Monday has forced the intervention of firefighters in one of the well-known hotel skeletons of Costa Teguise, as reported by the Emergency Consortium. The alert was received at 2:53 p.m. after a column of smoke was detected inside the building under construction located on Avenida de Las Palmeras.
Personnel from the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium went to the scene after being alerted by CECOES 1-1-2. Upon arrival, they verified that the fire affected a small wooden shed located inside the enclosure, which was completely engulfed in flames.
Firefighters proceeded to extinguish the fire using pulverized water and a compact jet, managing to control and put out the flames in a few minutes. Subsequently, they carried out finishing and checking tasks to rule out the existence of hot spots or any risk of re-ignition.
Once the safety of the area was guaranteed, the intervention was concluded and the crew returned to their base. The incident resulted in no personal injuries.
