The fourth-year students of ESO from the Secondary Education Institute of Teguise and four teachers have stayed in Barcelona, where they were enjoying their end-of-year trip, after the electrical blackout that left a good part of Spain without light, except for the islands and autonomous cities.

In total, 65 students and four teachers were due to return on Monday to Lanzarote, but finally the flight could not leave. According to the first options offered by Vueling, they had to wait until Sunday, May 4, to be able to return to the islands.

Finally, the situation has been controlled. "When the flights were suspended, they were sent to a four-star hotel, with everything paid for." This was reported by Carmen Pellón, Island Director of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands in Lanzarote.

Finally, the students and teachers will not have to travel on Sunday, May 4, but rather "a flight has been chartered for them" with the same company and "they are flying today to Gran Canaria" together with the students from Telde who also had to stay in Barcelona.

Throughout the day, the students will visit the Elder Museum, in the capital of Gran Canaria. According to Pellón, they will then take a boat between Gran Canaria and Lanzarote, which is expected to dock on the island of volcanoes during the early hours of Thursday.
