The Acaip prison union denounces the presence of rodents in the Tahíche prison. As they explain in a press release, "the workers live with mice in their workplace" and Acaip warns of the "possibility of a plague."

From the union section they explain that "throughout this week some rodents have been found trapped in the traps that have been placed in the workplace that workers usually occupy during their working day".

"Until now they have only been found in the prison staff office, but due to the proximity, it is not unreasonable to think that they could move to the cells occupied by the inmates, which would pose a much greater health problem," Acaip warns.

Finally, they point out that "the presence of rodents in the prison not only affects the health of both workers and inmates, but also poses a serious security problem since they have been captured very close to the cables on which both alarms and surveillance cameras depend."
