A 55-year-old Swiss man had to be rescued this Wednesday after finding himself in distress at sea in the Los Charcones area of Playa Blanca. Apparently, the man was bathing in the area when a wave dragged him inside.

Once the CECOES was alerted, agents from the Local Police, Civil Protection, Emerlan, an SUC ambulance and the GES helicopter were dispatched to the scene. Finally, a fishing boat that was passing through the area managed to rescue him before the arrival of the helicopter, as reported by the Security and Emergency Consortium.

Once rescued, the boat took him to the Emerlan boat, which has already taken charge of the tourist, who was evacuated to the port of Playa Blanca, where the Emerlan and Yaiza Civil Protection health services are assisting him and transferring him to the Health Center.

In addition, the Local Police agents locate the affected man's wife in the area and are in charge of transferring her and her car to the port of Playa Blanca. The paramedics had to attend to her for an anxiety attack.
