A man in his 50s has been found dead this Saturday with signs of violence in an abandoned hotel in the Las Maretas area, within the municipality of Yaiza, although the authorities will wait for the results of the autopsy to corroborate whether it was a violent or natural death.
Some young people who were walking through the area found the body in the vicinity of an abandoned hotel and alerted the security forces who traveled to the scene.
The Judicial Police of the Civil Guard have initiated the corresponding investigations in the face of this discovery. Regarding the deceased, the first data indicate that the man was a person of about 50 years old who was undocumented and homeless, while the property, a hotel built in the 70s that never came into operation, is currently used by groups of squatters.
For their part, the authorities have not ruled out any hypothesis about the circumstances in which the man's death occurred. In this sense, it will not be known if it was a homicide, natural death or accident until the autopsy is performed.
