National Police agents have arrested a 37-year-old man in Arrecife, with a police record, as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery with force in a business in the capital. The arrested man had already been arrested 48 hours earlier for another robbery with force committed in the same establishment.

The events were triggered after a call reporting that a robbery was taking place inside a hospitality establishment in the capital of Lanzarote. The agents who went to the scene were able to verify how the glass door that closed the business had been broken with a stone, which was still in place.

The national police officers carried out an inspection inside the business, locating a bottle of methadone, a handkerchief with traces of blood and various personal documents. Next to the cracked door, the agents observed a trace of blood, which led them from the outside of the establishment to a nearby gas station. There was a man unconscious lying on the ground and surrounded by a large pool of blood.

The agents immediately applied a tourniquet to the injured man's arm to reduce the bleeding until the arrival of an ambulance, which transferred the injured man to a nearby hospital where he was admitted.

The documentation found inside the establishment turned out to belong to him, so once discharged he was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery with force.

The police investigations also made it possible to verify that he had already been arrested two days before for another robbery with force committed in the same establishment. After the corresponding police report was prepared, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
