The Civil Guard confirmed this Sunday that the body found on Saturday on the beach of Caletón Blanco, in the municipality of Haría, is that of the crew member of a sailboat that ran aground last Friday in the area.
According to sources from the Civil Guard informed Efe, the investigation into these events remains open, so they have not been able to give more details.
Sources from the Lanzarote Emergency Consortium have indicated to Efe that the sailboat was located last Friday in the Caletón Blanco area, after noon, and that it is suspected that it may be related to drug trafficking.
Likewise, the sources have indicated that the origin of the ship is being studied, which had not departed from any Canary Island port, and that it is believed that the deceased is of Maghrebi origin.
