The GES helicopter and firefighters rescued this Friday a 33-year-old young man of German origin with a serious leg injury in Montaña Tinaguache, in the municipality of Teguise. At approximately 09:15 hours, the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert reporting that a man required medical assistance in the aforementioned area.

The firefighters of the Security and Emergency Consortium have located the affected person and, given the impossibility of carrying out the rescue by land, have requested the Coordinating Center to intervene with a rescue helicopter.

The GES helicopter has landed in the area and its rescuers have accessed the place where the hiker was. After being immobilized, and with the collaboration of the firefighters, he has been transferred on a stretcher to the aircraft to evacuate him to the helipad of the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.

Local Police and Civil Guard have collaborated with the rest of the emergency resources,
