A plane traveling from London to Lanzarote this Friday had to be diverted to Portugal. The main reason for the sudden landing was the violent attitude of seven of the passengers, according to the British newspaper Daily Mail.

During Ryanair flight FR3511, which was heading to Lanzarote and was scheduled to land at 12:15 p.m. on the island, the crew was surprised by the unpleasant behavior of some of the passengers. According to one of them to the British newspaper: "It seemed that a group of men had been drinking and were bothering some female passengers," images that were recorded with a mobile phone by those present.

At that moment, the pilot warned the entire crew that "unacceptable behavior was not going to be tolerated and that if it did not stop they were going to divert to Portugal, specifically, to Faro airport," the newspaper revealed.

The situation was getting out of control, so much so that the flight attendant was hit by one of them and after 20 minutes, the plane landed in the Portuguese region of the Algarve, around 10:50 a.m. Immediately afterwards, twelve Portuguese police officers had to intervene and take the man off the plane, while the other passengers watched in amazement. Finally, he was arrested by the Portuguese authorities.

The passengers were able to see how the police dragged the man down the aisle of the plane, while he tried to fight the officers. The passengers after witnessing what happened revealed that "it was quite shocking to see, we are all a little shocked," they told the media.

Once the scare passed, the flight continued its journey as planned, in order to reach its destination.
