The Civil Guard of Lanzarote arrested on February 21 a 35-year-old person for the alleged crime of drug trafficking, resistance and disobedience to authority agents, as well as another against road safety.
According to a press release issued by the Civil Guard, this person fled in a police operation established for the prevention of petty drug dealing while being investigated for these events, ignoring the signals of the agents and endangering their physical integrity, almost running over one of the agents when fleeing through the secondary road parallel to the LZ-1, generating a serious risk for other road users in the town of Costa Teguise.
Investigation and police inquiries
As a result of the investigation carried out by the Civil Guard of Costa Teguise, on February 21 they carried out a series of inquiries related to petty drug dealing.
The circumstance is that the detainee was going to be identified in a police operation established by the Civil Guard in the town of Guatiza, at which point he started the escape to avoid police action, almost running over one of the agents.
Ignoring the signals of the acting civil guards, a follow-up was initiated using acoustic and sound signals since he was driving recklessly, at which point it was detected how he threw a package through the vehicle window, which could be blocked later, initiating a escape on foot until being reduced by the agents.
After this action, the Civil Guard carried out the appropriate checks, verifying that the package thrown in the escape contained 467 grams of hashish pollen.
Given this circumstance, the Civil Guard carried out the appropriate investigations that would lead to carrying out a search and entry in the detainee's home located in the town of El Mojón, belonging to the municipality of Teguise, in which 39 grams of hashish, 759 grams of marijuana, various tools for the production of drugs, knives and the amount of 8500 pounds sterling and 1400 euros in cash were being seized.
Therefore, the appropriate police proceedings were carried out and placed together with the detainee at the disposal of the Investigating Court No. 3 on duty in Arrecife.
