Five minors have so far reported being sexually assaulted by the football agent who has been sent to prison after the Civil Guard of Gran Canaria discovered that he had allegedly used his position to recruit and corrupt more than 60 adolescents.

In the prison order issued against him on November 12, a ruling made public this Monday, the judge of San Bartolomé de Tirajana in charge of the case details that five minors have reported him for sexual assault offenses punishable by up to 15 years in prison and that the total number of possible victims could be around 50, of whom only 14 have been interviewed so far.

The Civil Guard, which announced the results of its investigations this Sunday, with the suspect already in prison, raises the number of potentially affected minors to 61.

The magistrate in charge of Court Number 1 of the Investigation Section of the Court of Instance of San Bartolomé de Tirajana bases the prison order, among other issues, on the fact that the detainee violated the precautionary measures imposed on him in March, following the receipt of the first complaints against him.

In fact, according to the Civil Guard's report, despite these measures, he traveled to Barcelona last April with several minors, as a representative of an international youth football club.

The judge emphasizes that he faces penalties of up to 15 years in prison for each of the sexual assault offenses attributed to him, as well as two-year prison sentences for charges of corruption of minors and nine years for recruitment of minors.

The order recalls that the investigation began after a minor's complaint and the events allegedly occurred between 2023 and 2024.

Following the download of the suspect's mobile phone, seized during his initial arrest, and based on the minors' statements in court, there are indications that he had physical sexual encounters with some minors, who followed his instructions.

According to the order, the suspect took advantage of both his age and his status as a football representative of the victims.

Furthermore, the order details that he used a female identity on the social network Instagram to gain the trust of some boys and recorded sexual images without the minors' knowledge.

The judge bases his preventive detention order on the seriousness of the charges imputed to the detainee, the risk of alteration or destruction of relevant evidence, the need to prevent the repetition of criminal acts, and the risk of flight.
