Firefighters extinguished a fire in a house in Arrecife this Monday, according to the Security and Emergency Consortium. The smoke occurred around 2:42 p.m. on Caldera Taburiente street in the capital of Lanzarote.
The Emergency teams went to the area to extinguish the black smoke that had affected one of the floors of the entire block. Specifically, the kitchen furniture and left the house flooded with hot gases. Next, the firefighters disconnected the electricity and gas to finish cooling the kitchen and checked all the rooms. Once the fire was extinguished, they placed an electric fan to evacuate all the gases from the house.
Apparently, the person who lives on the first floor of the building left the frying pan on the fire, causing, due to carelessness, a fire inside the kitchen of the building. According to firefighters, the smoke came out of the windows of the first floor.
Agents of the National Police and Local Police, and also an ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service, were transferred to the scene, although the health services did not have to carry out any intervention. The Local Police was in charge of evacuating the building until the danger was over, when the neighbors were able to return to the interior of their homes.
