Firefighters put out the fire on Thursday night that broke out in an apartment building on Canalejas Street in Arrecife. Around 10:00 p.m., an alert was received at the CECOES informing of the fire.
Firefighters went to the scene and found smoke coming from the third floor. "We proceeded to force the door of the apartment and once inside we verified that the fire was in the apartment next door, but since the window was closed, smoke was entering it," they said from the Emergency Consortium.
The firefighters proceeded to force the door of the other apartment and observed that the fire was located in a bedroom and had affected a piece of furniture, some appliances, belongings, curtains and windows. Also the glass of the bedroom was broken. We proceeded to extinguish with water from the apartment itself "since there was little left burning". "Later we removed the leaves from the windows, both apartments were closed and their locks were working," they said.
