A fire that occurred on Tuesday night, around 10:30 p.m., in a building in Arrecife mobilized emergency services after a fire broke out in a home located on the fourth floor. According to the Security and Emergency Consortium, the fire mainly affected a room, although it was spreading to the rest of the house.
National Police, Local Police, the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) and firefighters intervened at the scene, who confirmed that there was no one inside the burning house.
During the extinction work, a man who was in the adjoining house was rescued, who had to be evacuated to the hospital for smoke inhalation. In addition, three other people who were on the roof were kept in that place until the ladder was ventilated, at which time they were safely accompanied to the street.
Once the fire was extinguished and the building ventilated, the tenants were able to return to their homes after verifying that there were no traces of smoke left. Only the house affected by the fire has been left uninhabitable.
