The Zonzamas landfill has suffered a fire this Sunday. According to the manager of the Emergency Consortium, Enrique Espinosa, the fire occurred in one of the high areas of the center, so the strong wind that the island registers has made the extinguishing tasks more difficult.
For a few hours, three mechanical shovels have worked on its extinction. At about 5:00 p.m., the flames have already been extinguished and only smoke remained.
