Fine for shopping and leaving your dog tied up outside the Open Mall

The Animal Welfare Law establishes that this type of action may entail penalties that can reach 200,000 euros

The owner of a dog that was left tied up in the open air on the outside railing of the Open Mall while she was shopping will be fined based on the Animal Welfare Law.

Although this is not an episode of abandonment as such, the Animal Welfare Law establishes the prohibition of leaving a dog unattended at the entrance of public establishments, considering this action as negligence, with penalties that can reach 200,000 euros, recalls the Local Police of Arrecife, whose Animal Protection and Environment Unit (UPAM) activated the Animal Protection Center of the Arrecife City Council to take charge of the pet.

The action of leaving a dog at the entrance of a public establishment constitutes serious negligence, endangering the welfare and integrity of the animal, warns the Local Police of Arrecife.
