The Tías City Council condemns the robbery suffered in the facilities of the municipal football field Manuel Arrocha García, in Puerto del Carmen, where during the past night the two kits, home and away, of the women's team of FC Puerto del Carmen, which competes this season in the Liga FUTureFEM, were stolen.
The robbery directly affected the start of the season for the women's team, as it is the new sports kit with which the players are facing this campaign. The theft occurred at the club's headquarters, located in the municipal facilities, and left the team without the necessary attire to play one of their sporting commitments.
The club informed the Local Police of the events and filed the corresponding complaint, with the investigation now in the hands of the competent authorities.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz Saavedra, wishes to express his solidarity with the players, the coaching staff, and the entire FC Puerto del Carmen family, while lamenting that "the effort, enthusiasm, and work of a team starting a new season is affected by an event of this nature".
"We are talking about sports equipment that not only has an economic value, but also an important value for the players, who have been preparing for this new season for months. From the City Council, we want to convey our full support and our willingness to help the club within our possibilities," he adds.
The Councilor for Sports, Ismael Cruz Ramos, also expresses his support for the women's team and highlights the work that FC Puerto del Carmen has been doing to promote women's football and youth categories.
"It is especially regrettable that a group of girls who are enjoying sports, growing as athletes, and representing Puerto del Carmen have to face such a situation right at the start of the season. We want them to know that they are not alone and that they have the support of the City Council," states Cruz Ramos.
The Tías City Council is in contact with the club officials to learn firsthand about the situation and seek possible solutions that will allow the team to continue developing its activity normally.
