Expedita Santana, the young woman whose tied-up corpse appeared floating off the coast of the town of Arrieta, north of Lanzarote, was violently murdered just hours before her body was located by an amateur fisherman.
Sources close to the case told La Voz this Friday that the young woman was last seen alive at about two o'clock in the morning on Sunday, December 7 in Arrecife, that is, about eleven hours before her body was discovered in the sea.
They added that whoever killed her had to pick up the girl in Arrecife, tie her up and end her life, either in the capital or elsewhere on the island, and then move to Arrieta, about 25 kilometers away, to dispose of the body.
In this regard, they indicated that, if, as is logical, the body was thrown into the sea before dawn, to avoid being discovered, everything suggests that the death of Expedita Santana occurred between two and seven o'clock in the morning on Sunday.
The authorities have asked citizens to collaborate and provide any clues that may help to know the places where Expedita Santana was after two o'clock in the morning last Sunday, the date on which she was murdered.
The investigators do not rule out that more than one person may be involved in the death of the girl, since one of the hypotheses currently being worked on is that Expedita was subjected to various abuses and repeatedly beaten before her death occurred.
The body of Expedita Santana was located floating in the water at about 13 hours last Sunday by an amateur fisherman when he was transiting through the area known as Los Riscos, located between the towns of Mala and Arrieta, in the municipality of Haría.
Her body showed numerous signs of violence, since in addition to being tied hand and foot, the victim had allegedly received several blows to one of her eyes and had injuries to her neck, as indicated at the time by sources from the rescue teams.
