Emerlan volunteers have carried out several actions in different maritime emergencies registered in Lanzarote throughout this past week.

One of these operations took place in Puerto del Carmen, where Emerlan had to rescue a pregnant woman who was 150 meters from the shore. The lifeguard on duty in this bathing area entered the water, and the NGO's boat provided support to bring both of them aboard and safely transport them to land.

On the other hand, they also mobilized to a **zone near Marina Rubicón** where a vessel sank, as *La Voz* already reported. When the volunteers arrived at the scene, the boat was completely submerged. The operation was coordinated with Salvamento Marítimo and CECOES 1-1-2

Another of the interventions Emerlan had to attend was at Famara beach, where the Emergency Coordination Center received a call about a semi-drowning victim. Upon arrival, the person was already being assisted by the beach lifeguards, so they were treated on-site and finally transferred to the José Molina Orosa Hospital by a medicalized ambulance from the SUC.

From Emerlan they recall that the sea is not a game and common sense is the best option because, "although throughout the year we arrive on time, on many occasions that option does not always exist".
