Agents of the Arrecife Traffic Detachment have investigated on the morning of July 19 a 66-year-old male of Spanish nationality - as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against road safety, specifically for an alleged crime against road safety by driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcoholic beverages with a car on the LZ-20 road and with a minor under 135 cm tall, without using an approved child restraint system, for which reason he was also administratively reported.
The events occurred at 00:20 hours on July 19 during a verification point carried out by agents of the Arrecife Traffic Detachment on the LZ-20 road (Arrecife-Tinajo) at kilometer point 5.600, where they were able to verify how the investigated person was driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcoholic beverages.
The circumstance is that inside the vehicle there was a minor without any type of child restraint added to the detection by the agents of an evident symptomatology in the driver of driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages or drugs.
For such events, the Civil Guard proceeded to submit the driver to alcohol detection tests in exhaled air, in addition to preparing the administrative complaint to article 117, section 3, option 5A of the General Traffic Regulations for "Circulating with a minor under 135 cm tall, without using an approved child restraint system, duly adapted to their size and weight, under the conditions established in the regulations".
Therefore, the vehicle of the offending driver was immobilized, locating the mother of the minor with the aim of traveling to the control point to take charge of her.
The investigated as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against road safety for drunk driving, has been made available to the corresponding Court, on guard duty, of the town of Arrecife.
