National Police agents have arrested A.L., 49 years old and of foreign nationality, in Arrecife as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of robbery with violence in a hypermarket. The detainee has up to 23 police records for similar events. He fled when the security guard realized he was stealing.
It was this employee of the commercial establishment who reported the events and explained to the police how he observed an individual, "known to the workers for habitually stealing in said business, abandoning it precipitously." "After asking him if he was carrying any hidden object, the individual dropped a perfume and left the establishment running, being chased by the security guard, who caught up with him shortly after," the Police report.
"The alleged perpetrator threatened the guard with infecting him with HIV-AIDS, producing a struggle in which he kicked and punched the employee several times," explains the police force. After that struggle, the individual managed to flee definitively. Subsequent police investigations allowed the identification of this man, who was arrested days later on a well-known street in Arrecife.
After the corresponding police report was prepared, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority, who ordered his release with charges. The police intervention was carried out by members of the Local Brigades of the Judicial Police and Citizen Security of the Arrecife Police Station.
