A 60-year-old cyclist has been seriously injured after falling this Thursday in La Graciosa on the road to the town of Pedro Barba, near the Los Conejos ravine, as reported by Emerlan.

The accident took place at around 3:30 p.m., when CECOES was alerted. Two ambulances were dispatched to the scene, one medicalized and one basic life support ambulance from EMERLAN, a doctor and a nurse from the Local Clinic of La Graciosa.

When Emerlan volunteers arrived at the scene where the injured man was, they found that he had deformities in one shoulder and in the chest with difficulty breathing.

Due to the man's condition and the state of the road, EMERLAN activated the GES helicopter. They then notified the Emergency Consortium to transfer a medical team to the scene to administer analgesia and stabilize the person until the arrival of the helicopter.

The GES helicopter traveled to the area and proceeded to rescue the affected person. Once on board the aircraft, the GES transferred the injured man to the helipad of the Security, Emergency, Rescue, Prevention and Fire Extinction Consortium of the island of Lanzarote, where a medicalized SUC ambulance was waiting to transfer him to the Molina Orosa hospital.
