Complaint against a taxi driver for headbutting him after an argument in Puerto del Carmen

According to the young man, the reason for the argument was because he was not being taken home, but rather that the taxi driver "only made trips to the airport or long trips"

A 24-year-old Moroccan man has reported to the Civil Guard that he was attacked this Monday by a taxi driver in Puerto del Carmen. The events occurred around 8:00 a.m. on Avenida de las Playas in the town, according to the young man.

The victim was waiting to catch a taxi after finishing his workday when the assault occurred. According to the testimony collected in the complaint, the victim had a "small argument" with the taxi driver, who refused to take him back to his house. "He told me that I couldn't get in, that he only made trips to the airport or long trips," he specified.

According to his version, the complainant asked the taxi driver for explanations, arguing that it was "a public service" and that "he should take him." Immediately afterwards, the boy prepared to call the central office to file a complaint about the service when the driver pounced on him and gave him a headbutt in the face and several punches. At the time of the struggle, the taxi driver tore the shirt he was wearing, a garment valued at "400 euros," the victim emphasized.

After the assault, one of the taxi drivers who was parked in the area, who witnessed everything that happened, helped the young man and took him to a health center where he was treated and given the injury report. After that, they went to the Civil Guard barracks, where the victim filed the corresponding complaint. In addition, a motorcycle driver also had the "good gesture" of accompanying him.

Split lip and a cut on the eyebrow

Due to the blow, the victim has suffered several injuries, such as the wound on the upper lip with which he has lost a little skin from the inner and outer face of the lip, according to the injury report. In addition to a cut on the upper part of the left eyebrow, as can be seen in the images provided to the newspaper.
