The National Police have arrested a 44-year-old woman in Arrecife, with no prior police record, as the perpetrator of a robbery with force. The investigation began at the end of last January, after agents carried out several routine inspections in gold-buying establishments, in which a large number of jewels sold by the arrested woman worth several thousand euros were detected.

The agents in charge of the investigation managed to find out that the origin of the various jewels sold came from thefts in tourist homes in vacation rentals and from high purchasing power, in the areas of Tías, Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca, taking advantage of her condition as a cleaning lady.

The main target of the detainee was this victim profile, since on many occasions they do not file complaints, which caused her criminal activity to go unnoticed.

The agents managed to get the investigated person to recognize the facts once at the police station, and managed to recover several batches of jewels consisting of four gold bracelets, four gold and one silver rings, three gold and one silver chains and two gold pendants.

The detainee collaborated with the investigators in locating some victims, pending the location of the owners of some of the seized jewels.

Once the police proceedings were completed, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
