Arrested while trying to introduce drugs into a prison in the Canary Islands hidden in their underwear

National Police agents assigned to the Local Judicial Police Brigade of the Telde Local Police Station have arrested two women in San Bartolomé de Tirajana as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health, after being caught trying to introduce narcotics into the Las Palmas II Penitentiary Center.

The events occurred on the afternoon of September 1, 2025, when the agents, in coordination with the security personnel of the center, intercepted both women during the access control. The investigated were going to have an intimate encounter and a family visit with two inmates, respectively.

In a reserved area, the women voluntarily handed over several packages hidden in their underwear. In total, around 15 grams of cocaine, nine grams of heroin and eight grams of hashish were seized, in addition to two mobile phones.

The two detainees were placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
