National Police agents have arrested a 49-year-old man in Arrecife as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health. The arrested man, who has a police record mostly for similar events, was in a public place without justified cause based on the state of alarm in force in our country and was carrying five packages with cocaine, with a total weight of 4.45 grams.
The events unfolded on the afternoon of Monday, May 4, when National Police agents were carrying out prevention and security work in the Altavista neighborhood of the capital of Lanzarote.
The police officers observed an individual on public roads apparently without justified cause based on the state of alarm in force in our country who, in the presence of the police, tried to evade the agents by fleeing from them.
The agents managed to intercept this individual and proceeded to identify him, resulting in a 49-year-old man with a police record, mostly for crimes against public health. In the security check five packages containing cocaine were seized, with a total weight of 4.45 grams.
For all these reasons, the National Police agents proceeded to arrest him as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health. After the corresponding police report was prepared, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
