The Civil Guard of the Main Post of Costa Teguise in Lanzarote, arrested in October a 34-year-old male with several previous records for similar events, for committing several crimes of robbery with force, in which he stole various electronic material, merchandise such as tobacco, drinks, etc., as well as lottery vending machines, the total value of everything stolen being 23,453 euros, plus 621 euros in cash and 2,000 euros in damages caused in several commercial establishments, in various locations in Lanzarote.
The investigation began last October after receiving several reports of crimes against property perpetrated on the same night and in compatible time slots, in different areas of the island, by forcing the access door. In the early morning of October 12, they forcibly entered a supermarket in the town of Tahíche and two more premises, one of them being a tobacconist and the other a restaurant in the town of Órzola. Similarly, the following night the same criminal act occurred in a shop in the town of Costa Teguise, and days later this same town suffered new robberies in another shop dedicated to the sale of electronic products.
The agents of the Investigation Group realized that all the establishments had video-surveillance cameras, and after carrying out an exhaustive analysis of the frames of the facilities, it allowed the clarification of the crimes, as the alleged perpetrator was recognized by the agents who processed the proceedings.
The Civil Guard became aware of the arrest of this same person by another police force, and as a result of the collaboration, the perpetrator of the events could be identified because in his vehicle at the time of the arrest, clothing was found that turned out to be the same clothing worn by the person appearing in the video of the security cameras of the violated establishments. In addition, within the framework of the investigation, a Tablet is located in a second-hand shop, which had been pawned by the same arrested person, who stole it from one of the premises. The objects recovered during the investigation were handed over to their legitimate owners.
The detainee, together with the proceedings instructed for this purpose, was placed at the disposal of the Investigating Courts of Arrecife.
