The Civil Guard of the Main Post of Costa Teguise, in Lanzarote, proceeded on July 6 to arrest a person, who is attributed three crimes of robbery with violence or intimidation, as well as a continued crime of theft in supermarkets in the town of Costa Teguise.
On July 3, 2025, the town of Costa Teguise was surprised by a series of incidents that occurred in several supermarkets in the area.
It all started when the legal representatives of different establishments filed some complaints, alerting about the presence of a person who, apparently, had been stealing products, mostly alcoholic beverages, repeatedly.
As it was learned, this individual used to enter supermarkets and, on occasions, tried to intimidate employees in order to leave without being stopped. Even, in some cases, he was accompanied by other people who also participated in petty thefts.
These events were repeated on different days during the months of June and July, generating concern among workers and residents. Faced with this situation, the agents of the investigation area got to work. They carefully reviewed the recordings of the security cameras and listened to the testimonies of the affected employees, which allowed confirming the dynamics of the events.
Thanks to the collaboration and coordinated work of the Civil Guard of Costa Teguise, several control operations were organized in the areas where the incidents had occurred. Finally, they managed to locate and identify the alleged responsible, a resident of the town, to later proceed with his arrest and made available to the Court of Instruction No. 2 of Arrecife, which ordered his provisional imprisonment.
