The Civil Guard arrested a 42-year-old person on April 10, 2025, as the alleged perpetrator of five crimes of robbery with force, one continuous crime of theft, two crimes of vehicle theft and one crime against road safety, with the value of everything stolen oscillating at 3,500 euros, in the town of Corralejo.
The Civil Guard, after receiving complaints filed by several affected parties, initiated a thorough investigation into a series of thefts in vacation accommodations in the town. The reported events include the disappearance of personal belongings, cash and keys to rental vehicles.
The Investigation Area of the Main Post of Corralejo has proceeded to meticulously view the recordings of the video surveillance cameras. In parallel, efforts have been made to identify, locate and subsequently arrest the alleged perpetrator of the events.
The detainee went to the hotel complexes in the evening hours, accessing the interior of the clients' rooms, where he stole money, valuables for sale, and even keys to the vehicles leased by the victims, which the detainee used to travel around the island. The total approximate value of what was stolen was about 3,500.00 euros, and two vehicles were recovered in the town of Puerto del Rosario.
Therefore, viewing and study work was carried out on the images from the security cameras of the hotel complexes, carrying out various search, location and arrest devices of the alleged perpetrator, which culminated on the afternoon of April 10, 2025 when he was arrested at the time of arrival by boat from the island of Lanzarote, where, after a telephone conversation with Civil Guard officers from Yaiza, news was received of having been released, after his arrest as the alleged perpetrator of about twenty crimes committed on said island.
The detainee, along with the instructed proceedings, was placed at the disposal of the Duty Court of Puerto del Rosario (Las Palmas).
