The Civil Guard of Lanzarote, under the functional dependence of the Customs and Special Taxes Administration of the Tax Agency, arrested on April 7, 2025, a 44-year-old person, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health, after being discovered in possession of narcotic substances.

The intervention occurred in the Arrivals Hall of the César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport, where the detainee tried to introduce the drug hidden in his checked luggage and, more stealthily, in his underwear. Agents of the Fiscal and Border Unit of the Civil Guard, in the exercise of their functions as Fiscal Guard of the State, carried out a routine inspection on a flight from Seville.

During a random passenger control, the specialists manually inspected the luggage of a traveler, within the framework of actions aimed at preventing and prosecuting smuggling and other tax offenses.

In the course of a meticulous search, a hermetically sealed bag was found inside his suitcase containing five tablets of a resinous substance of brownish hue, presumably identified as hashish. Consequently, and by virtue of the detected indications, a thorough body search was carried out, locating in the intimate clothing of the individual four spheroids of identical chemical composition. The total quantification yielded 353 grams of the aforementioned substance.

For all the above, we proceed to his arrest and subsequent placement at the disposal of the court of the Arrecife Duty Court.
