The Civil Guard of the Main Post of Costa Teguise arrested last February a 46-year-old person for a crime of robbery with violence, when the perpetrator of the events entered a supermarket and, with a screwdriver in hand, threatened an employee to steal the collection before closing the establishment, in Mozaga.
The investigation began after the complaint filed by the employee of a supermarket, who stated that when she was closing the premises she was approached by an individual with a screwdriver in hand grabbing the clerk trying to access the interior of the establishment using violence, due to the victim's cries for help several neighbors in the area went to the establishment to check if the cries were from the employee, at which time the alleged perpetrator of the events left the place in a hurry.
Start and development of the investigation
The Civil Guard on February 18 initiated the appropriate investigations and collected the necessary inquiries for the clarification and location of the perpetrator(s) of the criminal act and recovery of the stolen money.
In addition, all the proceedings carried out and the information from an off-duty Civil Guard belonging to the Main Post of San Bartolomé who was in the vicinity of the place and was able to see the license plate of a suspicious vehicle, as well as various statements from neighbors in the area who came to the victim's aid, were compiled.
Therefore, it was possible to identify the possible perpetrator of the events, being identified without any doubt by the victim, arresting him later. It should be noted that this person was enjoying the third degree in the Tahiche prison.
The proceedings together with the detainee were sent to the Arrecife Duty Court.
