Agents of the Local Police of Tías arrested in the early morning of October 20 a 49-year-old man, who responds to the initials A.E.G., as alleged perpetrator of a robbery with force in an inhabited apartment building in Puerto del Carmen.
According to the Consistory, the events took place at about 05:20 hours and it was the security guard of a tourist complex who alerted the Local Police, tafter seeing a man jumping from the terrace of an apartment with a woman's bag and chasing him to the street. The agents of the Local Police managed to reach the individual and recover the stolen effects.
Subsequently, Local Police officers contacted the victim, a tourist who was sleeping when the robbery occurred, and handed over her belongings. After receiving the complaint from the injured party, the corresponding diligences were instructed to be sent to the judicial authority.
The City Council states that the Local Police of Tías has reinforced surveillance throughout the municipality and especially in the tourist area of Puerto del Carmen in view of the imminent start of the winter season and that, as a result of this reinforcement, this arrest occurred on Sunday.
