National Police agents in Arrecife have arrested a man accused of robbing several stalls and a bar on Avenida Marítima during the celebration of the Carnival in the capital of Lanzarote. He is a 42-year-old man, with 18 police records and who has been arrested as the alleged perpetrator of several crimes of robbery with force in the city.
The events were committed in the stalls located in Arrecife on the occasion of the carnival festivities, as well as in a bar on Avenida Marítima in this town.
The National Police initiated an investigation after receiving complaints from the restaurant owners of the establishments. The detainee allegedly had forced the locks and padlocks of the booths in search of cash, kitchen machinery, alcohol and narcotic substances.
The arrested, a known repeat offender of crimes against property, had just been released from prison a few weeks ago for similar events. After being located in the capital of Lanzarote, his immediate arrest was carried out as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of robbery with force, being placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority, who ordered his immediate imprisonment. The police investigation remains open in case more complaints are received.
