The Lanzarote Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) has requested the collaboration of the Volunteer Firefighters of Lanzarote (Boluntis) to rescue a black stingray (Taeniura grabata) that appeared stranded in a port of Lanzarote.

The animal, which weighed around 80 kilograms, was rescued by firefighters in the La Tiñosa dock area, in Puerto del Carmen.

At that time, the Accidented Wild Fauna Service was informed of its rescue and, according to reports, as it is not a protected species, it has been transferred to the facilities of the Zonzamas landfill.
