The yellow flag has been raised on El Reducto beach on Friday afternoon, the Arrecife City Council has reported. The reason has been the "two small specimens" of jellyfish that have been found on the shore.

"The notice has been placed as a precaution," the Council has highlighted. A beach, where a flag has also been placed warning of the presence of jellyfish. In addition, they emphasize that "bathing is not prohibited", but it is necessary to take precautions.

The Councilor for Beaches and the Environment, Davinia Déniz de León, has reported that these specimens, which appeared in the intertidal zone, have been sighted by the personnel that the city council has assigned to this beach for surveillance and lifeguarding.

The presence of these jellyfish "does not imply that bathing on this main beach of the capital of Lanzarote is prohibited," she explains. The Department of Beaches and the Environment requests users of this beach, with a blue flag, to "pay attention" to the information that is offered to bathers every day and to "monitor the color" of the flags raised.
