Fifteen years and six months in prison for sexually assaulting a woman in Playa Blanca. That is the sentence that Said Aboudrar accepted during the trial held this Tuesday in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, before the Provincial Court, where he admitted the crimes charged by the prosecutor.

The events took place on September 20, 2009, when Said Aboudrar went to the home of a neighbor, who was at home with her 10-year-old son. Once there, according to the prosecutor's indictment, he "lay down" on a mattress where the woman was sleeping and threatened the minor with death, ordering him to his room. "He grabbed him by the arms, telling him 'go to your room or I'll kill you, go to sleep', while slapping him in the face."

Afterwards, the prosecutor relates, the defendant went to the living room of the house "carrying a kitchen knife", where he "woke up" the victim, "placing the knife on her chest" and "cutting her with it in the thorax". "He began to punch her in the face and head, grabbed her by the neck with one hand, took off her pajama pants, tore off her underwear, and after pulling his pants down to his knees, without any protection, he penetrated her vaginally, while the victim tried to break free from him, constantly crying for help."

As a result of the events, the woman suffered "serious" injuries that required 358 days to heal, of which she was hospitalized for 78 days and in an extra-hospital regime for 280, according to the Prosecutor's Office.

Said Aboudrar had been in provisional detention since September 21, 2009, but he had up to four previous convictions for a vehicle theft crime, two for injuries and one for damages.

The prosecutor was asking for him on this occasion 15 years in prison for sexual assault and another five years in prison for a crime of injury.
