Two people were injured this Thursday after the vehicle in which they were traveling plunged down an embankment on Tunera street, in the municipality of Tinajo, according to the Security and Emergency Consortium.

The incident took place at 9:40 p.m., when emergency services received a call alerting them to the accident, so they moved to the scene.

The vehicle was traveling on the LZ-67 road when it plunged into another street and subsequently collided with another vehicle parked on said road. The two occupants of the crashed car remained inside the cabin when the firefighters arrived and were initially assessed by health services.

After them, the personnel carried out the extrication maneuvers and freed both occupants, using the necessary rescue techniques to enable their safe extraction.

Once the rescue work was completed, they proceeded to disconnect the vehicle's battery as a preventive measure to avoid possible electrical or ignition risks. Likewise, they removed the vehicle from the area and placed it in a safe location.

Local Police officers from Tinajo and two ambulances from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) also intervened in the accident.
