The Civil Guard of Puerto del Carmen and the Local Police of Tías have arrested a young man of Maghreb origin, who allegedly had just committed a robbery in a bank branch of La Caixa, located on Avenida de las Playas.
The events occurred at around 2:30 p.m., when a young man entered the office armed "with a katana and several knives", according to the Local Police of the municipality. Apparently, he was found with money in pounds and euros, although the Local Police have not specified the amount.
The young man, according to the police force, was arrested at around 3:30 p.m. on Folías street in the municipality, from where he was transferred to the premises of the Civil Guard of Puerto del Carmen, awaiting to be brought to justice.
