A 50-year-old woman was injured on Monday night, May 12, after being trapped between two vehicles in the town of Tahíche. The incident took place at 10:37 p.m. on Avenida Néstor de la Torre, according to the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium.

According to La Voz de Lanzarote, the accident was the result of a series of imprudences. The woman and her husband were traveling in two different vehicles and were preparing to park on the plain next to a well-known Tahíche pastry shop. At one point, the woman got out of her car - an SUV - to talk to her husband, leaving the vehicle without applying the handbrake on a slight slope.

The SUV began to move backwards and ended up trapping her between her car and her husband's. Upon the arrival of the emergency teams, the woman was conscious, standing, and trapped at knee level between both vehicles.

The firefighters proceeded to stabilize the cars and used a hydraulic separator to generate the necessary space and release the victim. Subsequently, the paramedics placed a splint on the affected leg and she was transferred by ambulance. Fortunately, the injuries were limited to the knee area.
