Red Cross lifeguards on Guacimeta beach, in Playa Honda, rescued a 73-year-old woman this Thursday who was in the water in cardiorespiratory arrest. They themselves performed resuscitation maneuvers on the swimmer, while calling the Canary Islands Emergency Service, which sent two ambulances, one of them a medicalized one.

The events occurred around 11:30 a.m., when the beach lifeguards alerted 112 of the situation. The woman had to be resuscitated by the lifeguards up to two times before the SUC ambulances arrived.
