A referee suffers a cardiorespiratory arrest during a cadet match in Lanzarote

The 39-year-old victim collapsed in the final stretch of the Marítima–Mensajero match and was resuscitated on the field before being transferred to the Molina Orosa Hospital.

The match between Marítima and CD Mensajero, corresponding to matchday 31 of the Autonomic Cadet League and played this Monday at the Municipal Agapito Reyes Viera in Altavista, was interrupted by a serious medical incident, as reported by Lanzarotedeportiva.

At 3:30 p.m., just minutes before the end of the match, the referee, 39 years old, collapsed on the field and suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest. After being alerted by the CECOES, two ambulances from the Canary Emergency Service were dispatched.

According to La Voz, the man suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest and the paramedics managed to recover him from the arrest and after being stabilized he was evacuated in the medicalized ambulance to the Molina Orosa Hospital.
