A pyrotechnics company investigated for a show held at the end of the year in the municipality of Tías

In addition to committing seven infractions, it has also been reported for deliberately obstructing the work of the agents, according to the Civil Guard.

The Civil Guard of the Intervention of Weapons and Explosives of Costa Teguise finalized the investigation initiated in January and finalized in February, to verify that the celebration of a pyrotechnic show complied with the current administrative regulations and security to celebrate the beginning of the year 2023, in the municipality of Tías.

This investigation culminated with the communication to the Island Directorate of the General State Administration in Lanzarote of eight possible infractions of Law 4/2015 on Citizen Security in accordance with R.D 989/2015. Seven of them committed by the alleged company of experts in charge of firing the pyrotechnic material. Among others, the regulation does not consider this company as authorized to execute this type of events, since they must have very specific characteristics, such as being the owners of a workshop for the preparation and assembly of pyrotechnic articles. However, in an attempt to escape the inspection work without being sanctioned, invoices and notifications were falsified, which could be proven false throughout the investigation, which incurred, in addition to an infraction for alleging false data, in a complaint for deliberate obstruction of the work
of the agents.

Therefore, it ended in various infractions related to pyrotechnic material by not justifying its origin, nor its transport by authorized means, the organizing company infringing the regulations by not communicating to the Island Directorate of Lanzarote. Likewise, the attendees of the event did not run any risk a priori as there was a safety distance, unaware of whether the pyrotechnic devices met European specifications and could endanger the attendees of the event.

The corresponding Weapons and Explosives Interventions of the Civil Guard in their inspection and control work of pyrotechnic articles and shows, intensified controls in pyrotechnic shows in recent months coinciding with the Christmas campaign, since the number of fireworks shots increased significantly reaching twenty, all of them complying with current regulations, with the exception of the reported show.
