A prisoner from the Lanzarote Penitentiary Center, located in Tahíche, escaped this Wednesday when he was going to give a talk at a school. This was reported by the trade union section of the Association of Bodies of the Penitentiary Institutions Administration (ACAIP).

The inmate belongs to the Therapeutic Educational Unit (UTE) of the Tahíche prison. The prisoner R.C.M. took advantage of a scheduled departure from the prison, in which he was going to act as a speaker in an educational center, to run away without the workers being able to do anything to prevent it, according to this union.

From the Acaip union they have taken advantage of this case to denounce "once again" the deficiencies, in this case human, suffered by prison officials in their daily work, as well as "the recognition of authority agents".
