Search for a crew member of a ship stranded off the coast of Tinajo

A sailboat with three Russian crew members ran aground this Tuesday morning in the Tenesar area of the municipality of Tinajo on Tuesday night. Two of the crew members have been rescued, while the authorities continue to search for the third.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. when the sailboat, which was sailing near the coast of Tinajo, encountered difficulties and ended up running aground. Emergency services were alerted and quickly went to the scene of the incident.

Two of the crew members were successfully rescued, one of them by the Helimer and the second by the firefighters. The Helimer rescued one of the occupants who was in the water and transferred him to the Lanzarote Airport. For their part, the firefighters, in a search by land, located the second crew member, who was also rescued by the Helimer helicopter due to the difficulty of the terrain.

The health personnel attended to the two crew members, one of them is a 52-year-old man who presented moderate hypothermia and the other is 40 years old and presented hypothermia and moderate multiple contusions. Both were transferred by ambulance to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.. However, the third crew member has not yet been located.

Search and rescue operations have begun first thing this Wednesday morning. A device in which the helicopter, Salvamar, the Emergency Consortium, Civil Guard and Local Police participate.
