A man has been admitted in critical condition to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital after being rescued from the sea at Las Cucharas beach in Costa Teguise. The incident took place at around 12.30 pm this Saturday, February 18, when CECOES was notified that they had pulled a person out of the sea who was in cardiorespiratory arrest and were performing resuscitation maneuvers on him.
Two ambulances, one basic life support and one medicalized, of the Canary Emergency Service, the Emergency Consortium, Local Police and Civil Guard have been dispatched to the scene.
When the health personnel arrived, they confirmed that the affected person remained in cardiorespiratory arrest and continued to perform advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers, managing to recover his pulse. Once stabilized, he was transferred in critical condition in a medicalized ambulance to the hospital.
Firefighters from the Security, Emergency, Rescue, Prevention and Extinction of Fires Consortium of the island of Lanzarote have collaborated with the health personnel in the transfer on a stretcher of the affected person to the place where the ambulances were located.
Local Police and Civil Guard have collaborated with the rest of the emergency resources and have made the appropriate reports.
