National Police agents have arrested nine men and one woman in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria as perpetrators of the crimes of belonging to a criminal organization and drug trafficking.
The investigation began in August 2024 and, after months of laborious investigations and searches, a large amount of narcotic substance was seized, specifically almost 800 kilograms of hashish, which had been prepared to be put into circulation towards its final destination on the island of Gran Canaria from the island of Lanzarote.
The agents in charge of the investigation managed to find out the modus operandi of the criminal organization, which had numerous members, including the manager of the Box Gym Puerto, whom he accuses of being the main ringleader of the network.
The police operation was carried out by the Drug and Organized Crime Unit (UDYCO) of Las Palmas, together with UDYCO Tenerife and the Local Narcotics Group of Arrecife.
The criminal organization was dedicated to receiving hashish from Morocco, subsequently taking care of its preparation and putting it into circulation through legitimate logistics companies.
In this way, they tried to hinder the investigative work of the police officers, masking the movements of the drug until it was collected at its final destination after being prepared on another island in the archipelago.
A home search was carried out in Arrecife, the place from which the narcotic substance had been extracted for its release, and, in the course of the operation, several assets related to the crime have been seized: three motorcycles, a car and several mobile devices; as well as 10,000 euros in cash and various tools for the preparation and preparation of the aforementioned substance.
We proceeded with the dismantling of an organized criminal network dedicated to the transport and distribution of narcotic substances based in the Canary archipelago.
Finally, the operation resulted in the arrest of ten people who, once the police proceedings were completed, were placed at the disposal of the competent authority, who ordered the immediate imprisonment of the head of the criminal organization.
