Fire in Arrieta

Firefighters from the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium have extinguished the flames of a house in Arrieta. The Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) received the alert at about 7:05 in the morning of a ground-level house that was affected by a fire in Los Morros, in the town of Haría. In addition, several people who were inside the property at the time of the incident had to be evacuated from the area, but without needing medical assistance.

According to the Security and Emergency Consortium, the fire originated in the water heater of the house, which was left on overnight. Although the flames have already been extinguished, firefighters are still working to cool the area.

After the incident, the house has suffered material losses and the interior would have been destroyed, according to the Consortium. Agents of the Local Police of Haría, Civil Protection and the Civil Guard also went to the scene.
